The news continues at Gambero Rosso, the most important Italian wine & food publishing group. After the announcement of the debut in the market of wine auctions, in partnership with the Italian company Wannenes (first event on 24 October, in the debut of the “Roma Gambero Rosso Wine Weeks”), today comes the news of the sale by Class Editore, majority shareholder of Gambero Rosso, of 20% of the shares of Gambero Rosso Spa to Pegaso to the Telematic University.

“Class Editori announces that today, the sale at Pegaso Telematic University (through its 100% subsidiary Garage Startup Srl) of 2,889,800 Gambero Rosso SpA shares, equal to 20% of the company’s capital, was carried out, whose securities are traded on the AIM Italia of Borsa Italiana. The sale at a price of €1.12 per share (for a total value of €3,236,576). Following the operation, Class Editori in control of Gambero Rosso, with a share capital of 61.17% of the company (8,838,950 shares)”, explains an official note (while 1.5% is owned by Luigi Salerno, and 17% by the free float).

“With this operation not only continues but accelerates the development of Gambero Rosso - explains to WineNews the president Paolo Cuccia- thanks to our business model that aims to provide more and more content and services. This with Pegaso, who is a leader in distance education at Italian and European level, is not an economic affair, but a real partnership. We have six vocational schools, we have activated 13 Master’s degrees with many important universities, from Luiss in Rome to Cà Foscari in Venice, or the Polytechnic of Turin, for example, but also in Italy, which is made up of many corners not easily accessible, and especially at the international level, we needed a high-level partner, and so it is a meeting of intentions to grow together”.

But the strategy of Gambero Rosso does not stop there: “We grow abroad, but we also focus on development in Italy. Even with events. In this regard - explains Cuccia - I am currently at Fiumicino Airport, one of the best in Europe, which wanted us as a partner where we are presenting the guides of excellence of Rome and Lazio, July 15 we will do a similar event in Milan, “The Best in Lombardy” with those of Milan and Lombardy, with the region that involved us also to remind that Lombardy is one of the most important agricultural regions of Italy. And then with the “Gambero Roma Wine Weeks”, which starts at the same time as the “Vendemmia di Roma” (an event that unites the Italian wine brands with high fashion boutiques, ed) and then leads to the presentation of our restaurant guides, to wines and quality food. There will also be the debut of the partnership with Wannenes, who has been looking for us, with this great and important auction (scheduled for October 24th, ed) ”.

“The operation strengthens the relationship in the educational sector that already links Class Editori and the Pegaso Telematic University, the absolute leader in e-learning. Education is one of the development sectors of the publishing house, which is also advancing in its integration with Gambero Rosso,” says Paolo Panerai, vice president, and managing director of Class Editori.

“With this agreement, the already close relationship between our two realities of excellence is intensified, with a transfer of skills in the production of contents and cutting-edge technologies that allows us to be increasingly competitive and to strengthen our primacy”, comments Danilo Iervolino, president of Pegaso Telematics University.
