The passion for wine takes David and Victoria Beckham to the Castello della Sala

The famous couple of stars has tasted old vintages of the Umbrian white: 1999, 2002, 2005 and 2010, the years of birth of the four children

There is nothing like wine, which allows with a simple gesture, that of opening a bottle, to relive even just symbolically an important year, linked to special events such as a wedding, or a birthday. This is the case of one of the most popular and beloved couples of the star system, the one formed by the former champion of the Manchester United David Beckham and his wife Victoria, former Spice Girls now a successful fashion designer. The Beckhams have never hidden their great passion for wines, from the great French to the top labels of the Belpaese, without disdaining the Californian ones, which this time, on holiday in Italy, took them to Tuscany, first to Bargino, in the extraordinary cellar of the Antinori family which is a real architectural work, and then to another family property, this time in Umbria, at the Castello della Sala, in Orvieto. And here, together with their friend Renzo Cotarella, MD of Marchesi Antinori, one of the oldest and most prestigious Italian wine families in the world, they tasted old vintages of Cervaro, one of the most famous whites and a true new passion of the Beckhams: and not just any vintage, but, as WineNews exclusively reveals, precisely 1999, 2002, 2005 and 2010, the years of birth of their children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. “Thank you. Beautiful hours spent with Renzo and friends at the Castello della Sala - wrote the former footballer on his stories of Instagram - drinking the fantastic old vintages of Cervaro della Sala.” A summer love, but destined to last over time.
