France’s Romanée Conti and Jayer, Italy’s Sassicaia and Monfortino in Finarte’s auction

The “top lots” at Finarte’s auction  “Collectible Wines”, to be held on September 16th in Milan, include: a bottle of Romanée Conti Grand Cru 1996 from Domaine de la RomanéeConti, starting price, 10.000 euros; a bottle of Echezeaux Grand Cru 1990 by Henri Jayer, estimated price 5.000 euros; 12 bottles in the original box of Sassicaia 2006 from San Guido Estate (3.300 euros); a bottle of Musigny Grand Cru 20011 from Domaine G. Roumier (3.000 to 7.000 euros); a bottle of La Tache 2006 by Domaine de la Romanée Conti (3.000  euros) and a bottle of Pomerol 2004 from Petrus (2.200 euros).  It is truly an extraordinary selection of wines. There are 400 lots in the catalog, featuring 245 Italian wines. The Italian wines from Piedmont include a bottle of Barolo Monfortino Riserva 1993 by Giacomo Conterno (700 euros), 2 bottles of Barolo 2001 from Bartolo Mascarello (500 euros), 2 bottles of Barbaresco 1996 by Bruno Giacosa (330 euros) and 2 bottles of  Barbaresco 2020 by Gaja (300 euros).  From Tuscany, Bolgheri and Sassicaia ( in another lot there is a 12-bottle case in the original box of vintage 2005, starting price 3.000 euros) and a vertical of Ornellaia vintages 2001. 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006, now by Frescobaldi Group, (960 euros), a bottle of Masseto 2001, from the Frescobaldi Group (750 euros),a jeroboam (3 liters) of Le Pergole Torte 1997 by Montevertine 1.000 euros), a bottle of Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2005 by Soldera.  And, the top wines from Marchesi Antinori:  a jeroboam (5 litri) of Tignanello 1981 (900 euros), and 6 bottles of Solaia 1997 (900 euros).  Amarone has 2 bottles of Amarone della Valpolicella 1993  from Quintarelli (500 euros). For sparkling wines, there is a bottle of Bruno Lunelli Riserva 1995 from Ferrari Trento (800 euros).
The top wines in the135 lots of French wines, along with the ones we have mentioned above, include a bottle of Chambertin Leroy (800 euros), a bottle of Chateau Margaux 2000 (600 euros), a bottle of Chateau Latour 1949 (500 euros) and a bottle  of Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1988 (400 euros). The Champagnes at the auction include 2 lots dedicated to Dom Pérignon – one lot is a bottle of P2 Vintage Rosè 2000 (1.000 euros) and the other is a bottle of P3 Vintage 1992 (2.000 euros).
Wines featured from other producing countries include 6 bottles of Opus One Overture 2019 (540 euros), from Napa Valley, and a bottle of Grange Bin 1995 from Penfolds (300) in  Australia.
Finarte will hold  “Distilled Collectibles”  on September 17th.  The top lots include Glen Garioch 1971 by Samaroli (6.000 euros) and a collection of 17 bottles of Armagnac Dupeyron ranging over 200 years, from 1893 to 1970 (2.000 euros).
