FOR ITALIAN HERITAGE

Know Fai Goods with Pinot Grigio Doc delle Venezie, from Trentino to Sardinia

The collaboration between the Consortium of the “great” Italian denomination and Fondo Ambiente Italiano continues thanks to “Sere Fai d’Estate”

Enhancing Italy territory through experiences which bring cultural heritage and landscape into dialogue is a journey in which Pinot Grigio DOC Delle Venezie plays a leading role. The denomination, which today accounts for 85% of Italian Pinot Grigio production and 43% of global production, spans 27,000 hectares across Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the Autonomous Province of Trento, with an output of 230 million bottles and a supply chain comprising 6,141 winegrowers, 575 winemaking companies and 371 bottling companies. Thus, it becomes an active interpreter of a contemporary lifestyle and an authentic way of experiencing places, helping to tell the story of the deep bond between excellence and national identity. The collaboration between the DOC Delle Venezie Consortium and Fai (the Italian Environmental Fund Foundation) continues as part of “Sere Fai d’Estate” - “ Fai Summer Evenings”, a program of events that, until August 16th, brings some of the Foundation most evocative properties to life through evenings dedicated to culture, conviviality and the discovery of Italian heritage.
Following events at the Abbey of Santa Maria di Cerrate in Lecce and Casa Macchi in Morazzone, Varese, the next appointment is set for August 8th at Avio Castle in Sabbionara di Avio, in Trento. One of the most important Fai properties located within the DOC Delle Venezie territory, it will host a charming St. Lawrence Night featuring guided visits, entertainment and wine tastings. On August 16th, the events move to the Conti Vecchi Salt Pans in Assemini, near Cagliari, for an evening combining live music with the enchanting atmosphere of the lagoon at sunset.
Now in its second year, this partnership stems from the shared desire to “promote the very best of Italy through authentic, engaging experiences capable of creating value for local communities and territories - explained Stefano Sequino, director of the DOC Delle Venezie Consortium - Pinot Grigio DOC Delle Venezie itself is the result of a major project of cohesion which brings together Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the Autonomous Province of Trento under a single denomination, united by a shared production culture, high quality standards and a common strategy for protection and promotion. Bringing these values to Fai properties means placing them in symbolic locations of Italian excellence, where historical and cultural heritage naturally interacts with the landscape, local communities and regional products”.
