A temporary partnership for the market: Tenute del Cerro Spa, the agricultural and viticultural branch of the Unipol Group (five owned estates, four of which are between Tuscany and Umbria, for a total of 5,000 hectares, 300 of which are planted with vineyards) and Villa Russiz, the wine labels of Friuli Venezia Giulia (45 hectares of vineyards in Collio), will distribute their wines in synergy, both in Italy and abroad, with a focus on constantly developing markets such as China, Russia, Canada, Asia and Northern Europe. An agreement that will last 4 years, and there will be, according to rumors, future developments also in terms of ownership.“This synergy is certainly a successful completion of our wine portfolio with a producer of excellence of Collio such as Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio and Friulian wines. These references are well combined with our productions mainly based on important red wines such as Nobile di Montepulciano, Montefalco Sagrantino and Brunello di Montalcino”, said Antonio Donato, general manager of Tenute del Cerro, protagonist in wine with Fattoria del Cerro, the largest private reality of the Nobile di Montepulciano denomination, with its 600 hectares of estate of which 180 are vineyards and 94 hectares registered in the Nobile di Montepulciano, La Poderina (Brunello di Montalcino), Monterufoli (Vermentino), Còlpetrone ( Sagrantino di Montefalco) and Tenuta di Montecorona (award-winning for its own Dop oil). A partnership between two companies with unique stories, Tenute del Cerro, founded in 1978 as a company dedicated to investment in agriculture, and then became an important estate in the wine sector growing exponentially, with 1.6 million bottles exporting to more than 20 countries worldwide, and Villa Russiz, Friuli’s historic winery, founded in 1868 by Elvine Ritter de Zàhony and Count Theodor Karl Leopold Anton de la Tour Voivrè, a member of an ancient and noble French family of Catholic religion, who first introduced French varieties to the Collio.
