In the USA, Italy’s number one wine market, one of the most exclusive events on the American wine scene is ready to take place. The final stage of “Matter of Taste”, the tour offering great tastings and master classes that has already visited Napa, Taipei and Zurich will be held in New York on November 22nd and 23rd. The event is the project of The Wine Advocate, the most prestigious wine critic magazine in the world, founded by Robert Parker.
The gala dinner, “A Perfect Evening - 1.000 Point Dinner” will kick off the event on Friday, November 22nd. The gala dinner will be prepared by the two-Michelin-star chef Gabriel Kreuther owner of his New York restaurant, accompanied by 10 wines that the magazine’s team of tasters (Monica Larner is the Italian reviewer) judged 100/100.

Italy will offer two of its top icons, Sassicaia of the Tenuta San Guido and Masseto, both vintage 2016, along with other world wine giants such as Chateau d’Yquem 2009, Cheval Blanc 2009, Champagne Brut Grand Cru Millésime 2008 Egly-Ouriet, Hermitage Blanc 2017 by M. Chapoutier, Chardonnay Lauren Summer 2017 by Aubert, Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan Vineyard 2005 by Hundred Acre Vineyard, Grenache E 2015 by Sine Qua Non and RunRig 2016 by Torbreck.
The “Gran Walk About Tasting” will take place on Saturday, November 23rd at the Ziegfeld Ballroom where some of Italy’s most famous wineries, such as Elio Grasso and Renato Ratti from the Langhe of Barolo, Antinori, Riecine, San Giusto a Rentennano and Tolaini from Chianti Classico, Argiano, Canalicchio di Sopra, Ciacci Piccolomini of Aragon, Donatella Cinelli Colombini, Il Marroneto, Mastrojanni, Poggio Antico and Siro Pacenti from the territory of Brunello di Montalcino, Le Macchiole, Campo alla Sughera and Poggio al Tesoro from Bolgheri, Tua Rita from Suvereto, Petrolo from Val d'Arno di Sopra, Allegrini and Cesari from the Valpolicella area, Gianfranco Fino from Apulia and Planeta from Sicily, will participate.
Italy will also be in the spotlight hosting an exceptional master class, led by one of the most honorable cooperatives in Italy and the Langhe, the Barbaresco Producers. There will be a great tasting, guided by Monica Larner and the winery director, Aldo Vacca, including vintages of Barbaresco, all Reserve versions, and of Crus from 1982 to 2013 like Rabaja, Asili, Montestefano and Montefico.

The closing event will be the “Ultimate Hedonist’s Bring Your Own Bottle Final Dinner” to be held at the Gabriel Kreuther restaurant, where guests (maximum 100 places) are asked to bring at least three bottles of their favorite wine, which though must have received a score of at least 93 points from The Wine Advocate.
