EXCEPTIONAL AUCTIONS

Wine and charity: 170,000 dollars for “No Kid Hungry”, thanks to Primum Familiae Vini (Pfv)

The amount collected in the auction of 12 great bottles of the families, auctioned in the three-star Michelin restaurant Le Bernardin in New York

When great wine meets charity, success is assured. Sometimes, however, the results are truly memorable. Like 170.000 dollars raised for "No Kid Hungry", an organization that fights to eradicate hunger and poverty, from the auction of great wines personally selected by 12 members of Primum Familiae Vini, an association that brings together 12 of the most important "family" wineries of European wine - of which are members Marchesi Antinori, Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Joseph Drouhin, Domaine Clarence Dillon, Egon Muller Scharzhof, Famille Hugel, Pol Roger, Famille Perrin, Symington Family Estates, Tenuta San Guido, Familia Torres and Vega Sicilia - auctioned, in recent days, at Sotheby's, at the dinner at Le Bernardin, a three-star Michelin restaurant in New York, of chef Eric Ripert.
Great wines, presented directly by the producers (Vega Sicilia Único 1953, Graham’s Vintage Port 1970, Familia Torres Mas La Plana 1970, Weingut Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Trockenbeerenauslese 1975, Famille Hugel Riesling Sélection de Grains Nobles 1976, Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 1998, Joseph Drouhin Musigny Grand Cru 1992, Marchesi Antinori Tignanello 1982, Champagne Pol Roger Brut Vintage 1985, Château Mouton Rothschild 1986, Château Haut-Brion Rouge 1989 and Château de Beaucastel Hommage à Jacques Perrin 1989 Jeroboam): “I am immensely proud - comments Marc Perrin - that the Primum Familiae Vini continue their long tradition of raising funds for charity actions, and “No Kid Hungry” is a truly effective association and deserving of this donation”. The last step in a long journey, which began in 1995, and which has seen the Primum Familiae Vini raise, since then, 3 million dollars donated to charity, mainly to support those who care for children in need and specialized hospitals.
