IN 2015 "FINE WINES" DID BETTER (OR AT LEAST NOT WORSE) THAN GOLD, COPPER AND STOCK MARKET INDICES LIKE FTSE 100 (LONDON) AND S&P 500 (NEW YORK), REVEALED THE BENCHMARK OF THE SECONDARY MARKET LIV-EX, THE "STOCK MARKET" OF FINE WINES INVESTMENTS

In 2015 "fine wines" did better (or least not worse than) gold, copper and the most important indices of the international stock exchange such as FTSE 100 (London) and S & P 500 (New York), revealed the secondary market’s benchmark Liv -ex (www.liv-ex.com), the fine wines investment "stock market", which compared the results of its main indices with those of the major stock market indicators and beyond. It appears that in 2015 the Fine Wine 100, the most important Liv-ex index (which takes into account prices of the 100 most sought after wines on the secondary market, especially Bordeaux, but also includes Italian brands like Masseto 2010, Sassicaia 2009 and 2010, Ornellaia 2009 and 2010 and Solaia 2010), has limited losses to minus 0.1%.
This is a negative result, but it is much better than the FTSE 100, the index of the 100 most highly capitalized companies listed on the London Stock Exchange, which closed with a resounding minus 4.9%, and the S & P 500, the top 500 US companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange, which closed 2015 at minus 0.73%. The gap is even larger when compared to the safe haven par excellence, gold, which lost 5.4% in a year, not to mention copper that fell 27.9%.
Italy 100, dedicated to Italy and comprising the last 10 "physical” years of the five big "Super Tuscans" (Masseto Ornellaia, Sassicaia, Tignanello and Solaia) and Barbaresco and Langhe Sorì Tildin by Gaja, Barolo Vigne by Luciano Sandrone, Messorio Le Macchiole and Redigaffi Tua Rita, that saw o.76% growth in 2015.
