Pasqua, China is a reality: in the first 9 months exports to +33%, turnover is close to one million

China is in Italian winemakers’ dreams, the market they have been chasing for a long time and for some, it is now becoming reality. As Riccardo Pasqua, CEO of the Verona winery told WineNews, “in the first 9 months of the year we are at +33% in China, but our target is + 55% by the end of 2018, as we will take advantage of the last few months of the year”. These numbers narrate a situation for Italian wine that maybe is slowly changing. “The time has come to push the accelerator to the floor”, said Pasqua, “it’s about making the Chinese understand that Italian wine, too, like French, is a status symbol”.
