The secret of a restaurant’s success is the working of the“triumvirate” made by the kitchen, the pillar of every place, supported also by the dining area and the wine cellar. It is the US magazine Wine Spectator to award a prize to the best wine supply of restaurants around the world, with the wine list Oscars, the “Grand Awards”, that, since 1981, has classified almost a hundred of the world’s best restaurants, which pay full attention to the wine supply. Among the 91 awarded restaurants of this year, there are 8 new entries, including, representing Italy in the world, Carlo Cracco, with his new restaurant , the Ristorante Cracco in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan, which wine list of 2,500 elements is managed by Alex Bartoli.
Among the news of this year, the Italian tricolour flag is supported by five big confirmations in the Hall of Fame of the Grand Award, which are the three Michelin starred Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence by Giorgio Pinchiorri and Annie Feolde (awarded since 1984) and La Pergola at the Rome Cavalieri by Heinz Beck, with the dining area and the wine cellar managed by Marco Reitano, La Ciau of Tornavento di Treiso by the chef Maurilio Garola, La Bottega del Vino in Verona, a temple of good drinking, now owned by the Historical Families (13 brands of Amarone of Valpolicella ) led by Luca Nicolis, and the Poeta Contadino of Alberobello by Leonardo Marco.
