A WINE “OUTSIDER”

Emmy stars toast with Franciacorta which connects its brand with equally prestigious names

Partnerships are the most winning marketing strategy of the consortium of the most famous Metodo Classico, in “Tv Oscars” glasses in Los Angeles

If there is one counterproductive and anachronistic feature of the wine world, it is its tendency toward self-reference. In a globalized world, and with an increasingly uncertain future marked by complex geopolitics, declining consumption, and many other challenges, it is essential to look beyond one own backyard. Franciacorta, one of the fastest-rising wine regions in the world and one of Italy most popular wine tourism destinations, has found a way to do just that. It has done so thanks to a wine, or rather a sparkling wine, or better yet, a premium Metodo Classico sparkling wine, beloved by wine enthusiasts and acclaimed by critics, which has become a true “outsider” (as WineNews explained in a video). Despite being a young and relatively small denomination - including 19 municipalities and more than 3,300 hectares of vineyards - it is dynamic and has, in just a few years, become a benchmark for quality in Italian sparkling wine production (20 million bottles produced annually, more than 17% destined for export, exports having grown by +130% over the last 15 years, particularly to Switzerland, the United States, Japan, and Germany, while Italy remains the largest market by volume, the denomination generates an estimated turnover of 500 million euros). It has achieved this, on the one hand, through a united and community-driven vision, supported by marketing and communication strategies which involve the entire territory (which is preparing to welcome visitors for the 2026 “Festival Franciacorta in Cantina”, arguably Italy quintessential wine territory festival); on the other hand, it has strengthened its brand by partnering with other equally prestigious names, through collaborations ranging from the Italian National Chamber of Fashion to the Michelin Guide and the Emmy Awards. With these partnerships, the Consortium, headed by president Emanuele Rabotti and representing more than 120 wineries, has not only kicked off the 2026 harvest but also announced the renewal of its partnership with television “Oscars”, the Emmy Awards organized by the Television Academy, for the sixth consecutive year. This is just one of the many projects that Franciacorta, through teamwork and an approach first pioneered by a handful of visionary wineries and now embraced by the entire territory, is developing thanks to its sparkling wines, which today serve as a true medium of conviviality in our society (a phenomenon to which we dedicated another video).
The partnership between Franciacorta and the Emmy Awards is founded on elegance and the Italian “know-how” which is admired around the world. In the United States, the leading market for Italian wine, Franciacorta continues to consolidate and strengthen its presence. Under this agreement, Italian iconic sparkling wine will accompany not only the “Emmy Awards” No. 79 ceremony but the entire “Emmy Season”, playing a leading role in the events which shape the calendar of this prestigious global celebration of television excellence.
The season officially began on July 8th with the announcement of the nominations for the “Emmy Awards” No. 78, honoring both television most established stars and a new generation of performers and creatives.
Among this year candidates, there are internationally renowned artists such as Steve Carell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Harrison Ford, Lisa Kudrow, Gary Oldman, and Michelle Pfeiffer, alongside emerging talents who have captured the attention of the global television industry, including Taylor Dearden, Chase Infiniti, Sarah Pidgeon, and Connor Storrie.
It is precisely this blend of legendary figures and fresh voices which makes “Emmy Season” one of the most important moments on the global entertainment calendar, offering Franciacorta the opportunity to engage with an international community of writers, actors, producers, industry professionals, media representatives, and opinion leaders from all over the world. Franciacorta will participate in the season’s key official events, including the “Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Reception” on August 13th at the JW Marriott LA Live in Los Angeles, the “Emmy” dedicated to “Creative Arts” weekend on September 5th and 6th, the traditional Governors Galas, and finally, the “Emmy Awards” ceremony No. 78, broadcast worldwide on September 14th from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, followed by the Governors Gala, the exclusive reception bringing together winners, nominees, and distinguished guests (an event which attracted 7.4 million viewers in 2025).
Today, the partnership between Franciacorta and the “Emmy Awards” represents far more than an institutional presence at an awards ceremony. Through its participation in the full calendar of “Emmy Season” events, Franciacorta brings to Hollywood a narrative which celebrates territory, culture, conviviality, and quality, helping to promote around the world the excellence of contemporary Italian craftsmanship and the values of made in Italy.
