EUROPEAN AGRICULTURAL SUBSIDIES FOR BANKS AND ROYALTY. SCANDAL REVEALED BY THE ‘INTERNATIONAL HERALD TRIBUNE’

Queen Elisabeth and numerous banks and industries are among those who benefit from European agricultural subsidies according to an investigation published recently by the ‘International Herald Tribune’. It uncovered the fact that, in many cases, funds set aside for farmers and the agricultural sector were being siphoned off by other industries. According to the investigation there are two norms that allowed this to happen: that which attributes each European member state a strong hand in assigning funds, as well as the fact that any land owner can request the funds even if no agricultural work is done on the land.

Among the most glaring examples of abuse of these funds are those of Queen Elisabeth of England as well as the “Gregorian” Austrian monks who are already famous for their musical debut with the album “Music for the Soul”.
In Italy, subsidies have been received by a credit institution, three sugar producers, and a dairy company.
