Made in Italy fans are cheering at McDonald’s, after the fleeting parenthesis of the McItaly - the sandwich of contention, which was strongly encouraged and promoted by the then Minister of Agriculture, Luca Zaia. The fast food chain will be launching “Mozzarillo” in September. “The new sandwich has a typically Italian taste,” states a press release, “its main ingredient is mozzarella made from 100% Italian milk from Lat Bri (Brianza Dairy)”. A new “adventure” with Italian products, the new mozzarella sandwich (the very name is “Italian sounding” ed) joins the group of recipes that have already used DOP Parmigiano-Reggiano, Alto Adige IGP Speck and Vinschgau bacon. McDonald’s is also planning a new recipe using another Italian dairy product- pecorino cheese (Tuscan, Roman, Sardinian?) next October.
