JUNK FOOD. THE ITALIAN GOVERNMENT OFFICIALLY STATED: “LET IT BE TAXED!” THE MINISTER OF HEALTH, RENATO BALDUZZI TELLS ITALIAN NATIONAL TV: “WE WILL ALL BE HEALTHIER EATING GOOD FOOD AND THE PROCEEDS WILL GO TO NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICES…”

It seems inevitable: the tax on “junk food” is definitely in the Government’s plans, stated the Minister of Health, Renato Balduzzi on Italian national television. And to determine what is junk food and what is not, it seems will be the concentration of saturated fats in food.
According to Balduzzi, “it’s a signal for all Italians because eating genuine food will make one healthier and the National Health Service will improve as well, with the proceeds from the tax…” Of course, the road won’t be completely smooth.
