Etna in Sicily and the Medici Villas in Tuscany are officially on the Unesco World Heritage List and the number of wines that come from the territory protected by the international organization is increasing.
Mount Etna is one of the most successful wine phenomena in recent years, and the Medici villas, some of which, such as Villa Artimino in Carmignano in Prato of the same DOCG join the Val d'Orcia in Tuscany, which includes Montalcino home of Brunello, Vernaccia in San Gimignano but also Val di Noto in Sicily, land of Baroque cities but also of many important wines on the island, or Castel del Monte in Apulia, with the vineyards at the foot of the famous castle of Federico II in the same DOC area, to name the most celebrated cases.
