A pair of glasses (goggles) that distorts reality and makes you believe you are having a hangover were tried by high school students in the UK, to make them more aware of the devastating effects of alcohol abuse: this is the new approach in the UK to combat alcoholism, adopted by the Market Bosworth High School in Leicestershire, where the students were asked to wear eyeglasses that deform their visual field, simulating the effects of a hangover from beer (hence the name "beer goggles"), like slow reflexes, a sense of confusion and distorted visual perception. In this way, young people will experience and be more aware of the risks and consequences of substance abuse such as alcohol and drugs.
