A "treasure of the forest" and Guinness Book of Records white truffle, weighing 1.48 kilos was found in the Bolognese Apennines just recently.
The truffle weighs 150 grams more than the one Giancarlo Zigante found in 1999 in Istria. A retired 60-year-old man and his dog Fogy found the truffle. The dog’s nose is destined to go down in history, on behalf of Angelo and Luigi Dattilo, brothers at the helm of the company in Savigno "Apennine Food". And now, the precious "tuber magnatum pico", besides adding to the joy of some wealthy fan of the genre, will also favor society as it will soon be put up for auction at a base price of 25.000 euros. Half the proceeds will be donated to the association Amani, which operates in Africa, while the other half to research on ALS.
