THE WHITE HOUSE CHEF COMING TO EXPO IN MILAN: CRISTETA COMERFORD WILL BE THE CHEF AT THE JAMES BEARD FOUNDATION RESTAURANT OPENING IN MILAN DURING EXPO 2015

The White House chef will be at the Milan Expo 2015. Cristeta Comerford will be in the kitchen of the restaurant that the James Beard Foundation, the most famous American Culinary Foundation, will open in Milan for the six month International Expo. Fifty of the top American chefs will alternate their services for a couple days each in the restaurant (the location has not yet been announced).

“Many chefs want to participate”, Mitchell Davis, head of the Foundation events, told the New York Times. “Tom Colicchio, Marc Murphy, Norman Van Aken, Barbara Lynch and Cesare Casella among others, have already confirmed their participation. Cristeta has been booked for August 18th and 19th. To honor the American tradition, each Sunday the restaurant will serve brunch. And, even though out of season, and again to honor US traditions, every Thursday will be Thanksgiving.

At the US Pavilion, designed by the New York architect, James Biber of Biber Architects, there will be the typical "food trucks" that serve food on the streets of Manhattan, which will offer burgers, lobster rolls and sweets. The Pavilion will also feature a ''vertical farm" and a cocktail bar. The program also includes seminars on topics such as genetically modified foods.
