WORK ON CITÉ DU VIN IN BORDEAUX IS WELL ON ITS WAY AND THE FIRST INDISCRETIONS HAVE COME OUT ON THE "DECANTER" - THE 7TH FLOOR WILL HOST THE RESTAURANT “7ÈME”, MANAGED BY CHEF NICOLAS LASCOMBES

Cité du Vin in Bordeaux is the official name (and not Cité des Civilisations du Vin) of the largest museum in Europe on wine culture. Work is progressing at a fast pace, and in the city of the Gironde, the "decanter", which inspired the futuristic project by the Paris studio X-Tu, stands out at 55 meters in height at the exhibition center. As the opening date of March 2016 gets closer, new details of what will be in it have been emerging, mainly on the spearhead of the "cité", i.e. the last two floors: on the seventh, the restaurant "7ème" following the legendary "Jules Verne" on the Eiffel Tower, which will be managed by Nicolas Lascombes, one of the top gastronomy experts in the area (at the helm of one of the city's most famous brasseries, the "Brasserie Bordelaise," and the restaurant "La Terrasse Rouge" in St. Emilion), and will offer 120 lucky guests that the room can accommodate over 500 wines, 25% from Bordeaux, 25% from the rest of France and the remaining 50% from other countries.
On the eighth floor, instead, there will be a beautiful view of Bordeaux where guests will enjoy tasting one of the 20 wines from around the world, on the constantly updated wine list. Meanwhile, the city government is ready to welcome between 400.000 and 500.000 wine lovers from around the world a year to what the city is already calling the "lighthouse of wine tourism", according to Bordeaux tourist office estimates, which counts 6 million tourists visit every year.
