There are 336 starred restaurants in Italy, 2 more than 2015, and the 8 three starred have been confirmed: “Real" of Castel di Sangro (L'Aquila), "Piazza Duomo" in Alba (Cuneo),"L'Osteria Francescana" in Modena, "Dal Pescatore" in Canneto sull'Oglio (Mantova), "Le Calandre" in Rubano (Padua), "Enoteca Pinchiorri" in Florence, "The Pergola" at the Rome Cavalieri in Rome and "Da Vittorio" in Brusaporto (Bergamo).
The new entries, just like last year, were the "two stars" that this year went to Peter Girtler of the Gourmetstube Einhorn in Mules, Trentino Alto Adige, and Giancarlo Perbellini of Casa Perbellini in Verona.
The biggest news concerns Davide Scabin since Combal.zero Rivoli has been repeatedly brought up to receive its third star, and instead it has lost one and now has a lone star. These are the top verdicts of the 2016"Michelin Guide”, the most awaited guide to Italian restaurants, curated by Sergio Lovrinovich and presented today in Milan (www.viamichelin.it).
The most important news is about the new one-star restaurants, 288 in all (3 more than 2015), 26 new entries and 13 restaurants that lost their star. Among the new stars, there are two names that stand out - one in Milan, the Japanese Tokuyoshi, and one in Rome, Achilli Enoteca al Parlamento.
The regions that received the most stars are Lombardy first, counting 58 restaurants, followed by Campania, 37 and the duo Piedmont and Veneto, 36, Tuscany 29, ahead of Trentino Alto Adige (27), Emilia Romagna (25) and Lazio (23).
The most starred cities are Rome with 20 stars in the city divided among 16 restaurants, followed by Milan that boasts 17 stars in 14 restaurants and Florence that counts eight stars in 6 restaurants.
