ANTINORI IS INVESTING AGAIN IN CHIANTI CLASSICO. WINENEWS RUMORS REVEAL ANOTHER MAJOR DEAL WITH ALIMENTA (AFTER SAN SANO IN 2015), PURCHASING THE CAPRAIA ESTATE (45 HECTARES OF VINEYARDS), IN CHIANTI CLASSICO’S "CONCA D'ORO"

Antinori is investing again in Chianti Classico. After purchasing Castello di San Sano from the Alimenta Spa Group in 2015 (over 80 hectares of vineyards in Gaiole in Chianti, in the heart of the Black Rooster territory), now the group led by Piero Antinori with his daughters Albiera, Allegra and Alessia, according to WineNews rumors, would be ready to close another important deal with Alimenta Spa group: the purchase of Capraia Estate in Castellina in Chianti, in the "Conca d'Oro".
The Estate, as one reads on their website (https://goo.gl/94b25m) counts a total of 123 hectares, of which 45 are vineyards (all in the Chianti Classico area). Obviously, the price of the deal, which should be concluded in the next few days, is not available, but we do know that one hectare in Chianti Classico is worth about 150.000 euros.
Yet another important investment for Antinori (www.antinori.it), who evidently believes in the strength and future of Chianti Classico, since they transferred the core business of the group there in 2012 and built the magnificent winery in Bargino, in San Casciano Val di Pesa. Antinori can now boast more than 240 hectares in the historic Tuscan area for its Black Rooster brand production, including its estates of Tignanello, Badia a Passignano, Peppoli and vineyards in San Sano, and now those of the Capraia Estate.
