140 MILLION EUROS TO REORGANIZE VINEYARDS, 101 MILLION FOR PROMOTION ABROAD, 45 MILLION FOR INVESTMENTS, AND A TOTAL OF 336 MILLION EUROS FOR OTHER MEASURES: THESE ARE THE CMO WINE ALLOTMENTS 2017-2018. SICILY IS TOP, AT 51 MILLION EUROS

140 million euros for vineyard reorganization and conversion, 101.9 for promotion in foreign countries, 45 million for investments, 20 for distillation, 20 for crop insurance, 10 for green harvest - this is how the 336. 997.000 euros available to Italy for the CMO Wine campaign 2017-2018 will be distributed, as the Ministry of Agriculture has established by decree 1715 dated 20 March 2017, signed by the head of the department, Giuseppe Blasi (https: / /goo.gl/qHb8X5). The funds for promotion will be divided 70% to each individual region, and on the national level the Ministry will manage 30%.
In detail, for each region, Sicily has received the highest amount, at 51 million euros (1/6 of the total), 32 for reorganization and conversion of vineyards. The second region is Veneto, at 35 (including 16 for reorganizing vineyards), followed by Tuscany, 27 (14 for reorganizing), Apulia, 26 (13 for vineyards), Emilia Romagna, 25 (14 for reorganizing) and Piedmont, 19 (9 for vineyards).
Regarding investments, the regions that received the most are Sicily, 8.6 million euros, Veneto, 5.6, Apulia, 5.1 million euros, 4.3 Tuscany, Emilia Romagna 4.1 and Piedmont 3 million euros.
All eyes are on promotion, hoping the stagnant 2016/2017-campaign case gets resolved, and the decree for 2017-2018 proposals arrives quickly with clear and precise rules. The regions with the highest budgets are the same 6 above, but in a different order: number one is Veneto at 12.5 million euros, ahead of Sicily at 8.4, and Tuscany at 7.6.
Then, Apulia and Piedmont at 6.7 and finally Emilia Romagna at 6.4 million euros.
