Italian restaurants abroad have historically been the best allies for Italian wine in the world, and have been especially successful in the United States and the UK. Consequently, the growth of level and reputation of Italian restaurants in Asia is good news for Italian producers, as Italian cuisine is increasingly popular and appreciated in Asian markets.
The second edition of the Michelin Guide Singapore has awarded stars to 12 new restaurants (bringing the total to 38, with only one three star, Joël Robuchon, 7 two stars and 30 one stars, www.guide.michelin.sg), and among these, the Italian restaurants Braci (Www.braci.sg, Gruppo Lido Restaurants & Bars founded by Beppe De Vito) and Garibaldi (www.garibaldi.com.sg, chef Roberto Galetti).
“The second edition confirms the enthusiasm and quality of Singapore's culinary scene. It’s vitality is driven by chefs who, true entrepreneurs, have invested in developing new restaurants, as well as visitors to Singapore who are always looking for new food experiences”, said the Michelin Guide CEO Michael Ellis, who added, “The atmosphere in Singapore makes it one of the destinations with the greatest culinary potential, and it will continue growing rapidly in the years to come”.
Thanks also to Italian cuisine.
