"OPERA WINE 2018": "WINE SPECTATOR"AND THE MAGNIFICENT "107" (16 "NEW ENTRIES"). THE DATE IS APRIL 14TH IN VERONA FOR THE VINITALY CLASSIC PREVIEW. ALISON NAPJUS: “IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO NARRATE THE DIVERSITY OF ITALIAN WINE SO FEW CELLARS"

Video by winenews.tv:
It is not the "Top 100" that counts worldwide, but the 100, rather 107, of the best Italian wineries selected by "Wine Spectator" for "Opera Wine". It is important for Italian producers, for image and market
Boscarelli and Tenuta di Trinoro (Tuscany), Gravner (Friuli), Leone De Castris (Apulia), Maculan, Bortolotti and Nino Franco (Veneto), Mamete Prevostini (Lombardy), Marchesi di Barolo and Prunotto (Piedmont), Pietradolce, Serraglia and Feudi del Pisciotto (Sicily), Quintodecimo (Campania), Tenuta San Leonardo (Trentino) and Drei Donà (Emilia Romagna) are the 16 new entries on the "elite" of the 107 Italian wineries selected by "Wine Spectator" for "Opera Wine" 2018, the prestigious and now traditional tasting preview at Vinitaly (on April 14, 2018, www.operawine.it).
The selection brings together wineries throughout Italy, from Valle d'Aosta to Pantelleria that are very different for size, territory, production styles, history and blazon, but united by the high quality of the wines, and the ability to tell the story of the Italian wine’s great diversity, like Wine Spectator’s philosophy.
Just to name a few of the wineries listed, Allegrini, Antinori, Argiolas, Arnaldo Caprai, Bellavista, Bertani, Santadi, Carpineto, Banfi, Castello d'Albola (Zonin), Castello di Ama, Cusumano, Casanova di Neri, Di Majo Norante, Donnafugata, Famiglia Cotarella-Falesco, Ferrari, Feudi di San Gregorio, Gaja, Lungarotti, Frescobaldi, Masciarelli, Masi, Mastroberardino, Mazzei, Nino Negri (Giv), Planeta, Quintodecimo, Tasca d' Almertita, Tedeschi, Ornellaia, Tommasi, Tormaresca, Umani Ronchi, Zenato, Zyme, Aldo Conterno, Avignonesi, Braida, Castello di Ama, Ca 'del Bosco, Dettori, Garofoli, Gini, Pierpopan, Jermann, Massolino , Paolo Scavino, Petrolo, Renato Ratti and Vietti. “This is our seventh edition, and it is the way for us at Wine Spectator to get to know new big producers”, commented Alison Napjus, “and we thank them for their friendship. We have reached the point where we review 3.000 Italian wines a year, and with only one hundred to list it is an impossible task to represent everything Italy has to offer, because there would be many more. There is always a group of exceptional producers, and they change in part every year so we are able to represent the enormous vitality and diversity of the Italian wine world”.
