Sustainability is becoming increasingly important, from the vineyard to the bottle and to the cork

This is demonstrated by the double-digit growth of the “Green” line of Vinventions, which accounts for half of the group’s sales in Italy

Sustainability is becoming increasingly important for the world of wine. Also for the cork

Sustainability is an increasingly important driver for the world of wine, both for the choices of consumers and for the strategies of wineries. And a concept that is increasingly being developed at 360 degrees, from the vineyard to the bottle. And even the cork, as the double-digit growth of the “Green” line of wine closures by Vinventions, one of the leading companies in the production of technical closures, and not only, tells us, with an increase of 16% in 2018.
A result that shows how Italian wineries are increasingly focusing on the sustainability of production. The choice of caps is therefore also fundamental, not only to avoid defects but to lower the total carbon footprint of the production and for better management of oxygen in the bottle. This also explains the success of “Select Green by Vinventions”, the first cap based on sugar cane, 100% recyclable and with zero impact.
“It is a result that rewards our commitment to working alongside producers and protecting the environment - declared Filippo Peroni, Sales Director for Vinventions Italy and Southern Europe - our Green line represents 48% of sales in Italy and is growing year after year at an important rate.
For us, it means being able to invest even more in research and thus give the best support to the producer to get his wine to the consumer in perfect condition. Today we are proud to be partners with our caps of great Italian brands and to close some of the best wines in all rankings. From north to south, from Barolo to Etna wine, our corks are conquering the Italian market, ensuring quality and homogeneity in performance.
The work we are carrying out on the infinite life cycle of our closures - concludes Peroni - demonstrates the desire of our company to contribute to the concrete achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Objectives 2030”.
