Brunello di Montalcino Luce of the Frescobaldi family lands in “La Place de Bordeaux”

11 négociants will distribute the brand's wines in Asia (except Japan), the Middle East and Africa. The CEO Geddes said, “We are entering a new era”

Brunello di Montalcino, one of the most famous Italian and international wines in the world has landed, for the first time, at “La Place de Bordeaux”, the most prominent distribution channel of the most valuable wines. Thanks are due to the Frescobaldi family that has entrusted the distribution of its wine brand Luce della Vite to 11 négociants in Asia, Africa and the Middle East (with the exception of Japan). The Frescobaldi brand acts as an umbrella for the wines produced in Montalcino, namely Luce and Lucente (the “first” and “second” wine of Luce della Vite, which are both a blend of Merlot and Sangiovese) and Luce Brunello di Montalcino, which comes from the 11 hectares of Brunello (on the 88 hectares of vineyards of Luce della Vite).
“We are excited and honored to begin a partnership with this group of négociants”, commented the CEO, Giovanni Geddes, “and we are convinced that it will give Luce wider market penetration and an even better reputation. We will bring Luce into a new era through our joint efforts and market knowledge”.
On the other markets, instead, distribution of the Luce wines will continue with their current partners. Luce will therefore become one of the few non-Bordeaux brands to be distributed by “La Place de Bordeaux”. The list includes, among others, the Italian wines Masseto, Ornellaia, Marchesi Antinori’s Solaia, or brands like the Chilean Seña and Clos Apalta of Casa Lapostolle, or the Californians Opus One by Mondavi and Inglenook by Francis Ford Coppola.
