From Forno, Antinori, Gaja, Mastrojanni, Pietradolce and more: here are the “Oscar del Vino 2019”

The prizes of Fondazione Italiana Sommelier and Bibenda. Recognitions also to Walter Massa, Ferghettina, Oasi degli Angeli, Tenuta di Trinoro...

As in any self-respecting “Oscar” ceremony, it rewards those who have made history and have become icons of the great Italian wine in the world. A journey that brings together three great labels, producers of absolute prestige, such as the Solaia 2006 Antinori, Barbaresco Sorì San Lorenzo 2015 Gaja and the Tenuta di Trinoro Trinoro of the Tenuta di Trinoro, celebrated with the “Premio Speciale della Giuria“, in an evening of celebration and celebration of the great wine of the Belpaese, in the Wine Oscars, one of the most “glamorous” awards of Italy of wine, signed by the Italian Sommelier Foundation and Bibenda, led by Franco Ricci, March 23, in Rome (Rome Cavalieri).
To receive the Oscar, were also the Amarone della Valpolicella Vigneto di Monte Lodoletta 2012 by Romano Dal Forno, one of the most prestigious names of Italian wines, as “Best Red Wine”, Derthona Timorasso Costa del Vento 2016 by Vigneti Massa, the iconic producer Walter Massa, as “Best White Wine”, Etna Rosato 2017 of Pietra Dolce, among the cellars that symbolize the Volcano, as “Best Rosé Wine”, Franciacorta Pas Dosé Riserva 33 2011 of Ferghettina, one of the most dynamic realities of the territory, as Best Spumante and Syrah Vendemmia Tardiva Kaid 2017 of the Sicilian brand Alessandro di Camporeale as “Best Sweet Wine”.
Verdicts arrived from the evaluations of 600 tasters, who, under the guidance of Fis teachers, tasted the 30 wines selected by the Academy of Wine Oscar, divided into 10 categories of 3 labels each. Among the winners, there is also the Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Loreto 2013 by Mastrojanni (of the Illy group), which in a few years has become one of the most important and reference realities of Montalcino, as “Best Expression of Tradition”, and again the Kupra 2015 of the famous Oasi degli Angeli as “Best wine of the best producer”, while the Etna Rosso Contrada Santo Spirito of the young Palmento Costanzo winery is the “Emerging Wine”, and the Barolo Essenze Riserva 2008 of Vite Colte the one with the “Best Value/Convenience Ratio”.
