The Belpaese towards the harvest, with 44 million hectolitres of wine in the cellar

The Belpaese is close to the 2019 harvest with 44.3 million hectolitres of wine in the cellar, 22.6 million hectolitres of Denomination (PDO) wines, 11.2 million hectolitres of Geographical Indication (GI) wines and 10.3 million hectolitres of ordinary wines. Data based on the latest update of the bulletin “Cantina Italia” of the Icqrf, from the Telematic Register, of July 15th, 2019. Between PDO and PGI of Belpaese, Prosecco Doc, despite the release of the harvest reserve obtained by the Consortium a few weeks ago, is still by far the richest denomination, with 2.7 million hectoliters, more than twice as many as Terre Siciliane, Veneto, Delle Venezie, Tuscany and Puglia, all over 1.2 million hectoliters. 1.1 million hectolitres in the cellar, on the other hand, for Doc Sicilia, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Chianti, 1 million hectolitres for Igt Salento, while 737,721 hectolitres in the cellar for Chianti Classico, and 679,856 hectolitres for Conegliano and Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Docg.
