A WALK THROUGH THE "ITALIAN WINE PAVILION", WHICH WILL ANIMATE THE ITALY PAVILION AT EXPO 2015 IN MILAN IS AN EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCE THAT STIMULATES OUR SENSES OF SIGHT, HEARING AND TASTE AMONG WINE TASTING AND PROMOTIONS

Let’s take an imaginary walk, 277 days before the opening, through the "Italian Wine Pavilion " (thanks to the collaboration of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, the Italian Pavilion and VeronaFiere) that will animate the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2015 in Milan. It will be primarily an emotional experience, which will accompany visitors to explore the history and secrets of the wine god, Bacchus. At the entrance, on the ground floor, a multimedia tour will introduce the wine world.
The images will narrate the seasons in wine territories from Val d'Aosta to Pantelleria, the stages of production, from the vineyard to the winery, and the role of wine in everyday life. In addition to sight, the sense of smell will be stimulated, with installations that will allow the wine lover to discover the typical aromas of wine from musts to hints of fruit, to those of the most important and well-known varieties. Then going upstairs the palate will finally have its satisfaction along a staircase with multi colored grapes wrapped in grape leaves, until one gets to the area dedicated to direct promotion and knowledge of wine. Here, companies will be the protagonists: there will be a permanent wine bar, the "Wine Library", open to free tastings or accompanied by professional sommeliers, and other spaces will be dedicated to companies, associations and institutions of the sector. This is the heart of the Wine Pavilion, completed by "Cantina Web", where you can buy the bottles of wine you tasted through an e-commerce site, which will deliver them all over Italy and abroad.
The virtual tour is not yet over, because on the terrace on the upper floor a fully equipped room will host master classes, wine tasting, wine & food pairing tastings, guided tours to learn about the different types of wine, biodiversity and particular characteristics, as well as a "VIP Lounge" to host the most important institutional events.

Focus - "Vino a Taste of Italy" An installation by Italo Rota

Right in the center of Expo 2015 right at the center of the exhibition, the pavilion "Wine a Taste of Italy" is a large installation dedicated to Italian wine, right in the middle of Expo 2015. "Vino a Taste of Italy" covers approximately 2.000 square feet of space and tells the story of the relationship between humans, nature and land that produce this wonderful "stuff" that is Italian wine. From the myths of the primal Oenotrians to today, 5000 years contained in an aroma, a color, a flavor.

The pavilion is full of Italian wine masterpieces, ranging from the rarest to the poorest, all real and sincere, produced at the foot of the Alps or the sea of Sicily, gathered on the rolling hills of Tuscany or the harsh Apulia Tableland, made in medieval castles or in the futuristic wineries designed by star architects, drunk on New Year's Eve in Naples or on top of the glass skyscrapers that now identify the Milan Expo 2015.
This wonderful adventure that has been traveling to new populations and new countries, is offered in a pavilion where visitors have the opportunity to physically immerse themselves in a spectacular location in which wine, grapes, wineries and people around the world that appreciate our wine masterpieces are arranged into visual, olfactory, taste and sound experiences where wine and its images fix in the visitors’ minds the desire to participate in this 5000 year old history: a great future that comes from far away.
Once inside, the visitor is immersed in landscapes that produce, vines that every year stretch toward the sky, hands picking grapes, and Orientals tasting wine. And then, there is the wine, 50.000 liters that vibrate and perfume in front of visitors, introducing them to the most particular part of the pavilion: smelling wine, a wonderful game for adults and children, to recognize the scents of the wine cycle, from the flowers of the vine to the wine. It is an initiation that entices visitors to continue the "discovery" game that will be offered to all visitors. Then, as we walk through a forest of talking grapes, we arrive at the "wine library".

The wine library offers the visitors more than 1.000 wines to taste and appreciate and wines to read, understand and remember. It is a phenomenal experience that brings together the five senses and next to the library, sommeliers will offer more in-depth readings of novels about wine for the more discerning visitors. Upon exiting the installation, the journey ends crossing through a grotto of grape vines, pointing out that it all began with these wonderful plants together with olive trees, which generated the culture of the Mediterranean people and that today we are offering the world to ensure a global future.
