HAPPY BIRTHDAY "LE CIRQUE"! SIRIO MACCIONI’S NEW YORK RESTAURANT CELEBRATES 40 YEARS OF ACTIVITY. SYMBOL OF MADE IN ITALY FOOD IN THE UNITED STATES, ESPECIALLY IN THE 70S AND 80S, IT WAS THE MEETING PLACE OF ALL THE AMERICAN STARS

Happy Birthday, "Le Cirque"! The restaurant in New York, led by Sirio Maccioni , who became a legend in the world thanks to his restaurant, is celebrating 40 years of activity. On March 24, 1974 Maccioni, restaurateur of Tuscan origin, opened "Le Cirque" on 65th Street in Manhattan, which became one of the most famous meeting places in New York in the '70s and '80s, where the who’s who of the Star System and beyond, met and dined: actors, artists, politicians, financiers and even the Holy Father, who appreciated that very special place not only for the cuisine and the wine cellar. But that's not all. Sirio, who was born in Montecatini on April 5, 1932, will celebrate his eighty-second birthday on April 4th with 150 guests in the new "Le Cirque" at One Beacon Court. He will be honored on May 5th by the James Beard Foundation with the "Lifetime Achievement Award" at the Gala in the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in Manhattan, which will be delivered personally by the former New York City Mayor, Michael Bloomberg.
The Maccioni family will celebrate the anniversary of the restaurant, however, on October 15th when three of the former chefs of "Le Cirque", Daniel Boulud , Sottha Khunn and Jacques Torres, will prepare a 6 hands menu for the great maestro, Sirio. Some Italian friends, "led" by Gianni Mercatali, will celebrate the anniversary in Forte dei Marmi in the summer with the whole family. And, the first prize of the next edition of "A table on the beach" will be dedicated to "Le Cirque".
