IT’S THE YEAR OF MARRONETO WINERY’S BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO. "THE WINE ADVOCATE"AWARDED 100/100, 99/100 FOR MADONNA DELLE GRAZIE 2010 AND IS THE NUMBER 1 WINE FOR THE US MAGAZINE "THE WINE ENTHUSIAST BUYING GUIDE"

It has been a spectacular year, at least at the international level, for Brunello di Montalcino 2010. One winery, though, has shone more than the others: Marroneto headed by Alessandro Mori. It was awarded 100/100 by Robert Parker’s "The Wine Advocate" (Monica Larner is head of the Italian edition) for Madonna delle Grazie (together with Tenuta Nuova 2010 Casanova dei Neri, ed.) Now with a score of 99/100, it is the number one wine, the top quoted (including Bordeaux) of the famous American magazine (edited Kerin O'Keefe in Italy) "The Wine Enthusiast Buying Guide", in the May 2015 edition dedicated to wines from around the world (with particular focus on Brunello di Montalcino, where Marroneto is in the first two positions with Madonna delle Grazie and Brunello di Montalcino 2010, rated 97/100, ed.), in a strictly blind tasting.

For most it was a new entry, but not for the critic and journalist Kerin O'Keefe, who explained to WineNews: “I have always appreciated the complexity and elegance of Marroneto’s Brunellos and my top scorers for "Wine Enthusiast" are the 2010 Madonna delle Grazie and Brunello. In 2006, though, I had already given Marroneto’s Brunello 1999 18.5 / 20 points in the magazine "World of Fine Wine", and I evaluated 19/20 for Marroneto’s 1981 vintage. And, in 2010, I gave 18.5 / 20 to Madonna delle Grazie 2005 - the highest score among all the Brunellos I've tasted”.
