Not only Brunello di Montalcino and Italy: the Epi group of the French Descours family, one of the richest in France, which in 2017 took over the famous Brunello winery, Tenuta Greppo di Biondi Santi and invented one of the most important wines in the world in the 19th century (and which already owns other prestigious wine brands such as Champagne Piper-Heidsieck, Charles Heidsieck and Chateau La Verriere, in the Rhone Valley), aims to grow even further. From the rumors of WineNews, the group is looking with concrete interest to new acquisitions outside of France, with a focus on all the most important territories in the world and on highly prestigious realities to constitute a real global group of luxury wine. An important path, and its natural way, especially after the acquisition of one of the most prestigious Italian wine companies, "cradle" of Brunello di Montalcino born from the pioneering spirit of Tancredi Biondi Santi. His family, which has a few days a new managing director, Giampiero Bertolini, is present in continuity in the company with Tancredi and Jacopo Biondi Santi, nephew, and son of Franco Biondi Santi, the late "guardian" of Brunello.
