THE SUPER CLICKED GOOGLE STREET VIEW IN VINEYARDS HAS NOW VENTURED INTO WINERIES IN THE NAPA SONOMA VALLEY WITH PANORAMIC VIEWS OF WINE TASTING AND BARREL ROOMS

The famous and picturesque virtual Google Street View in vineyards has poked wine lovers to look at wineries too. It started in California, where the panoramic views and spectacular evolution of Google Maps lets you explore the world at 360 degrees, and now from the vineyards it has expanded to the tasting and barrel rooms of the most famous wineries and famous breweries.
Up until now, Street View stopped at the gates of companies, but thanks to the new “look inside”, just one click takes you on a virtual tour in 78 wineries and 10 breweries around one of the most famous wine regions in the world, the historic Schramsberg, the reproduction of Castello di Amorosa in Tuscany, Artesa, Cade, Domaine Carneros, Cuvaison, Dry Creek Vineyard, Far Niente, Ferrari-Carano, Frog's Leap, Gundlach Bundschu, The Hess Collection, Lynmar, Matanzas Creek, Nickel & Nickel, Odette, Peju Province, PlumpJack, Quintessa and V. Sattui.

The idea was developed “thinking about what people would like to see in California where there are many wineries and breweries”, Deanna Yick, program manager for Google Street View, told "Wine Spectator", which is a "very Californian" company. Thanks to the latest Google technologies, including a kind of backpack camera, you can take panoramic pictures in places that before were not easy to get to. The idea”, added Yick, "has been enthusiastically received by companies. People like to see places in advance when they are thinking about where they would like to spend the weekend”.

There are virtual tours of other wineries around the world, like for instance, Château Lafon Rochet in Bordeaux, but this is the first special collection promoted by a group of companies in the States. And it's just the first one for Google Street View, whose goal is "to provide the most accurate and comprehensive coverage of real world views".
