TOUR DE FRANCE 2015 "SNUBS" FRENCH WINE. NOT ONLY WILL THE OFFICIAL WINE (FOR THE NEXT 3 YEARS) BE THE CHILEAN COMPANY CONO SUR, BUT NO STAGE OF THE TOUR WILL GO THROUGH ANY OF THE MOST FAMOUS FRENCH WINE AREAS

Tour de France 2015 "snubs" French wine. Not only the Chilean company, Cono Sur will be the official wine of the event (for the next three years), which has already prepared a series of "Bicicleta" wines and an ad hoc label, but no stage of the tour will go through any of the most famous wine regions in France. “We are pleased to host Cono Sur once again (it was already our partner in 2014) as an official partner of the Tour”, said Christian Prudhomme, director of the Tour de France.
“The Tour, like vineyards, has deep European roots, but is steadily getting new lands. It is not surprising that Chilean wine has been chosen since the "Bicicleta" series is produced with crops we have in France (Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Malbec, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Viognier...)”.

The only "negative" note for the South American Company is that the car sponsoring the wine cannot participate with the cars that will follow the Tour in France, but only in the initial stages of the Tour, which will be in the Netherlands and Belgium. This is because since 1991 the Evin Law in France prohibits all forms of advertising wine and alcoholic beverages. During the Tour the only ads for wines and spirits will be limited to panoramic photos of vineyards.
