WINE COMMUNICATION IS ESSENTIALLY ON THE WEB, AND IN THE US THE MOST INFLENTIAL WINE SITES ARE WINE SEARCHER, WINE SPECTATOR AND WINE ENTHUSIAST -THE TOP THREE ON "THE WINE WEB POWER" BY "VINEPAIR"

In the wine world, the main players are obviously the producers, but communication is becoming more and more important especially on the web, channeling and creating tastes and trends.
In the US, wine writers and online magazines are the most important players for wine culture. Which are the most popular and "influential” sites in the US, the number 1 wine market in the world? The web wine world magazine "VinePair" created a list, "The Wine Web Power", ranking the most influential websites in the wine world, now in its third edition.

The top three positions go to "Wine-Searcher", "Wine Spectator" and "Wine Enthusiast", which need no introduction, and that excel from all points of view: number of daily visits, popularity on social medias and shared links.

The other positions go to names that are less well known to most people.
"Bottlenotes", a platform that combines information and events is at spot number 4. In position 5, the rising star to watch is "The Reverse Wine Snob", which has grown enormously in the last 6 months, showing there is room for everyone in the galaxy of wine communication.
"Wine Folly", "Snooth" and "JancisRobinson.com", all climbed up a few positions from last year’s edition and are all before "eRobertParker.com", which in recent times, just like James Suckling, is looking much more toward the East, to Asia, rather than to the US market.
