A WINE SCHOOL IN SHANGHAI TO PROMOTE CULTURE AND CONSUMPTION IN CHINA. 2006 TUSCANY REGION PROJECT IN COLLABORATION WITH THE ITALIAN ENOTECA OF SIENA

Tuscany is moving to China to open a wine school in Shanghai. The news was recently announced in Florence by regional councilor of agriculture Susanna Cenni, who illustrated the initiatives included in the 2006 plans for the promotion of Tuscany.

The institute, created in collaboration with the Italian Enoteca of Siena, hopes to promote the culture of “Tuscan drinking”, or the consumption of wine products in China. A decision that was made at a time when interest and curiosity in the “nectar of the gods” is growing in Asia. Councilor Cenni pointed out “wine and our food products represent the ideal ambassadors for the Tuscan lifestyle. A way of life and a taste that must be promoted and made known among those cultures that have different food traditions than ours. We don’t believe China is only a potential competitor, but we also consider the great opportunities that this country can offer our producers”.
