WORLD’S FIRST "SUGGESTED PRICE" ON A WINE BOTTLE: CAMPO ALLA SUGHERA" OF BOLGHERI (OWNED BY KNAUF)WILL BE "BREAKING WITH TRADITION" BY PRINTING THE SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE ON LABELS

The suggested retail price has now finally arrived on wine bottles. Campo alla Sughera (owned by the German multinational construction company Knauf), a wine estate located in Bolgheri, one of the most famous wine territories in Italy, has now begun to print the suggested retail price on bottle labels. In a recent note, the company explained, “The initiative by Campo alla Sughera (www.campoallasughera.com) came out of the need to contrast the excessive price hikes for wines, a bad habit that damages the image of producers and blocks fruition on the part of consumers. Most probably, many restaurants and wine bars, attentive to strategies for sales as well as for their clients, will apply a price lower than that suggested on the label, and in this case…”.
