“MADE IN MARCHE” PASTA ON THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND’S DINNER TABLE... A SMALL ARTISAN COMPANY BECOMES THE OFFICIAL SUPPLIER OF BUCKINGHAM PALACE

Is it possible to imagine Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth digging in to a plate of maccheroncini from the Marche region in Italy? Well, from now on, Buckingham Palace has reserved a permanent spot for the specialty pastas produced by the small artisan company “La Campofilone”.
The company, begun in 1912 and recently relaunched by the young entrepreneur Enzo Rossi, has now become the official supplier of Elizabeth II, thanks to an agreement with Antonio Carluccio’s, the company owned by the famous chef, restaurant owner, and importer of Italian goods to Great Britain. “For us” – explained Enzo Rossi – “this is a great result for image and economics. We now predict the doubling of affairs in Great Britain, bringing sales up from 200,000 to 400,000 euros”.

The company operates in a mini-district of eight enterprises, where, a century ago, the local maccheroncino and other specialty egg pastas were produced. “La Campofilone” produces 10 quintals of pasta every day, which is exported all over the world. Apart from England, other important commercial agreements are being stipulated with Germany and Russia. And, Italy, has obviously not been forgotten either: this excellent pasta from the Marche will soon be available at Conad, Crai and Carrefour supermarkets.
