WineNews is now available via PDA: the world of wine on a cell phone courtesy of one of the most important online daily news agencies dedicated to wine and a reference point for professionals, sector workers and enthusiasts – www.winenews.it
Just go to www.winenews.it/mobile (which will shortly change to an automatic recognition system directly at www.winenews.it) in order to receive the hottest news from the wine world in real time. It is exactly the same as the information and graphics on the WineNews web site, and the mobile/PDA version also includes the rich database included in the monthly wine critic’s newsletter, “I Quaderni di WineNews”. Since 2005, in fact, this newsletter has been edited and published by wine critic Antonio Boco, who makes note of excellent wines, the most important trends in the wine world, the wines that best combine high quality with a competitive price, new world wines, the Italian wine market, and much more.
One can easily choose wines at wine bars and restaurants with the suggestions from “I Quaderni di WineNews” thanks to the easily accessible vertical set up of all of the pages and the menu that offers access to all of the different sections. As well, a powerful search engine offers results for contents and key word searches. In just a few moments the selections and information on wine, critical comments, denominations, and price are on the display.

WineNews is an online daily offering news and communications from the world of wine. It currently has 18,570 registered users (name, last name, address, profession, favorite wine, etc.), over 105,000 unique visitors per month, 35 million hits per year, and has been selected by the most important search engines like Google and Yahoo. In June 2005, WineNews also created its own newsletter, “I Quaderni di WineNews”, made up of enological notes by journalists Franco Pallini and Antonio Boco and sent directly to the email addresses of 14,498 “enonauts” and “professionals” in the wine sector. In April 2005, WineNews created www.winenews.tv, a web tv that is unique in Italy, presenting, in video and audio format, interviews, events, personalities, surveys, and curiosities of the wine world.
Since 2005 WineNews has had an important collaboration with Vinitaly, the most important world wine expo, with which the organization has entrusted www.winenews.it with providing news for its portal, www.vinitaly.it. This agreement has also facilitated the creation of Vinitaly-WineNews surveys, polls geared towards enonauts. As well, WineNews has organized “Cantine in Web” (a survey and analysis of Wineries on the Web) annually for the past five years. It is an important study because it is the only one in Italy that keep s a constant watch on the global wine village.
