FONTANAFREDDA WALKS OUT THE DOOR OF THE MONTE DEI PASCHI BANK AND RE-ENTERS THROUGH THE WINDOW OF THE MPS FOUNDATION, WITH A “COST” OF 1 MILLION EUROS SPENT IN CONSULTATIONS FOR SCREENINGS OF POTENTIAL BUYERS

One million euros spent on consultations for the screening of potential buyers (which included over 40 candidates) and a move a distance of about 100 meters: this is what Monte dei Paschi Bank was obliged to do to get the Piedmont wine company, Fontanafredda out from under the ownership of the bank in Piazza Salimbeni, and return it through the back door of the Monte dei Paschi Foundation, headed by Gabriello Mancini.
Thus, the conclusion of the vicissitude whose protagonist was the historic winery Fontanafredda, and which was declared a few months ago outside of the necessary “core businesses” of the bank headed by Giuseppe Mussari, also ex president of the MPS foundation, and now acquiring the company with the new funds from the private equity Demetra (and rumors have it that the Cassa di Risparmio of Cuneo may also be involved).
Demetra is dedicated to the acquisition of companies in the start-up phase, though also occasionally working with already mature companies. And is capable of bringing in immediate earnings, as in the case of Fontanafredda, which has a worth of 45.6 million euros.
