Count Francesco Marone Cinzano (owner of the Col d’Orcia Estate, one of the historic wineries of Montalcino) is the new president of the Brunello Consortium, the important organization for the tutelage and promotion of one of the most famous Italian wines in the world.
The roles of vice presidents will be taken by Ferruccio Ricci, Riccardo Talenti and Patrizio Cencioni.
Francesco Marone Cinzano succeeds another viticulturalist from Montalcino, Filippo Baldassare Fanti. Cinzano is considered the “viticulturalist of two worlds” because, as well as running the Col d’Orcia Estate for over thirty years (an estate that spans over 142 hectares of land - of which 106 have Brunello vineyards - inherited from his father Alberto in 1973), he also simultaneously runs another winery in Chile.
