The “Top Italian Wines Roadshow” by Gambero Rosso is about to begin. It is an initiative intent on expanding the development and promotion world wide of the top Italian wines. The Roadshow has invited a select group of the best wine producers (with a cost of 30,000 euros by each attending winery) to visit the most important markets around the world.
The idea was born out of the necessity to better explain the changes that the Italian wine world has undergone over the past twenty years, a period of enormous transformations in viticultural and enological techniques, as well as the rediscovery of Italian grape varieties. And thanks to this revived production of quality Italian wines, the world is now looking at Italy with renewed interest.
The Roadshow will be stopping at 11 different sites throughout Europe and the United States: Stockholm (5 November 2007), Zurich (7 November 2007), London (21 January 2008), Copenhagen (23 January 2008), Amsterdam (11 February 2008), Brussels (12 February 2008), Los Angeles (6 March 2008), Las Vegas (7 March 2008), Berlin (14 April 2008), Düsseldorf (16 April 2008) and Moscow (October 2008).
Forty-nine wineries will make up the Roadshow, all of whom have been invited by Gambero Rosso as the best examples of top level Italian wine - the best possible promoters of a positive message and image of Italy throughout the rest of the world, together with the organization that publishes, each year, the most representative guide to Italian wines.
