Since it’s in the name of charity, this time the stars won’t just be watching over. For the first time ever, all of the Italian chefs who have earned the most esteemed Michelin three-star rating will be joining together for a fundraising lunch for the non profit organization “Il Gusto per la Ricerca Onlus” (“A Taste for Research”, www.ilgustoperlaricerca.it). The foundation that has, since 2004, organized high-end gastronomic events to collect funds for pediatric medical-scientific research.
On June 8, at the most suggestive Ca’ del Bosco estate at Erbusco in Franciacorta, magnanimous guests will be able to enjoy the “Noon With Stars” super gourmet lunch event. To start, appetizers will be prepared by Luisa Valazza from the restaurant Al Sorriso (Soriso); first course will be supervised by Nadia and Giovanni Santini from Dal Pescatore di Canneto sull’Oglio; the fish-based second course will be in the hands of Florence’s Pinchiorri restaurant (Annie Feolde, Riccardo Monco, and Italo Bassi); the meat-based second course will be instead prepared by Massimiliano Alajmo from the Le Calandre di Rubano restaurant; and it will end with a dessert by chef Heinz Beck from La Pergola in Rome. Two appetizers will also be prepared by chefs Enrico and Roberto Cerea from the two-star Da Vittorio di Brusaporto, and by Mauro and Andrea Lorenzon from the Enoteca La Mascareta in Venice.
There will also be coats autographed by the chefs and other rare objects, like important wines in special bottle formats, as well as a collector’s chronograph donated by the Swiss IWC, that will be auctioned off by “gastronaut” Davide Paolini.
The number of guests will be limited to 130 people and the minimum offer to participate is 1,500 euros, which will also include a lottery draw for 8 antique icons that have been donated by Marco Regni. 50% of earnings will be given to the Fondazione Città della Speranza (City of Hope Foundation) for the construction of the “tower for scientific research”, and the other 50% will go to Mondo X, the community run by Father Eligio Gelmini, with the specific destination being the children.
The “Gusto per la Ricerca Onlus” is a non profit organization that was created in Padua in 2004 from an idea that Massimiliano and Raffaele Alajmo and Stefano Bellon had to unite excellent food with charity events where earnings would be given to organizations dedicated to pediatric medicine and research or general child support.
