ITALY TRIUMPHS IN THE UNITED STATES… PIERO ANTINORI, HEAD OF THE HISTORIC FLORENTINE WINEMAKING FAMILY, RECEIVES THE “GEI FRIENDSHIP AWARD” AND THE “LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD” FROM ‘WINE ENTHUSIAST’

Piero Antinori, the head of the historic winemaking family from Florence, Italy recently received the “Gei Friendship Award” in New York for his significant contributions to the image of Italy abroad. Lucio Caputo, president of Gei (a group that unites and espouses Italian economic operators in the U.S.) stated, “For us, Antinori is the person that best interprets the success of Italian wine in the world”.

As for Piero Antinori, he was “very honored” by this recognition on behalf of Gei, “which represents the best of Italian economy in New York and holds great merit for elevating the image of ‘Made in Italy’ abroad”.

Marchese Antinori also recently received another prestigious recognition in New York: Adam Strum handed him a “Lifetime Achievement Award” on behalf of ‘Wine Enthusiast’, one of the most important wine & food magazines worldwide.
