The Banfi Castle, leader in the Brunello of Montalcino territory, is the best wine tourism spot in the world, says the prestigious U.S. magazine “Forbes”, which compiles the famous annual ranking of the richest men in the world.

This list, which ranks the prestigious Tuscan spot at number one is the only Italian destination mentioned. The top ten list was compiled by George Taber in his book “In Search of Bacchus: wanderings in the Wonderful World of Wine Tourism”. The writer prepared the text after spending 8 months traveling the world, visiting 12 wine producing countries, “hunting” for the best wine tourism destinations- from the most luxurious to the most suitable for relaxation.

Taber explains that Napa Valley “practically invented high-quality wine tourism”. Other wine regions around the world have been following the Napa Valley model and expanding it further: some have very personalized offers; some organize hospitality in high level hotels; some have a restaurant and wine tasting room reflecting the territory, its history and traditions.
