AMERICANS LOVE FRANCE: PRESIDENT OBAMA STATES THAT AMERICANS ADORE FRENCH FOOD AND WINE, AND ADDED THAT THE BOYCOTT OF FRENCH PRODUCTS IS NOW ONLY A MEMORY

Americans love all that is French, said the U.S. President Barack Obama in his first interview to the stations of the Alps and I-Tele Channel, admitting his passion for French cuisine and wines. Plus Obama, who will be in Normandy on June 6th for the 65th anniversary celebrations of D-Day, underlined how the collaboration of Paris is key to solving global problems, and spoke with an enthusiastic tone of his counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy, “has proven to be very courageous in some of the decisions he has taken”, he explained, referring to the French government’s position on Afghanistan and the Iranian nuclear programs.

Obama claimed that the days of boycotting French products (initiated as a reaction to the French opposition of the intervention in Iraq) are definitely over. “I believe that Americans continue to love everything that is French”.
Obama, remembering his travels as a student, mentioned his passions “the food, Paris, Southern France, Provence and the wine” admitting that his French is a bit rusty, and ending with “Merci beaucoup”.
