Consumer trends around the world: In Great Britain, “The Telegraph” says thanks to the “Pinot Grigio Effect” and to Prosecco, in the last 12 months, Italy has sold wine for the value of 755 million pounds surpassing France and the U.S.A., second only to Australia. France, however, holds the record for the average price per bottle at 5.11 pounds, followed by domestic products at 4.51 pounds and then Italy at 4.32 pounds.
In France, for the “Comité national des interprofessions des vins d’appelation d’origine”, according to “Le Figaro”, more than 1 bottle in 4 opened in France were rosé wines, of which France is the leading producer in the world (28% of the total), ahead of Italy (21%). In the meantime, Moët & Chandon are provoking the market and launching in Miami, Florida, Moët Ice Imperial, the first champagne to drink “on the rocks”. Will it be a success?
