MADE IN ITALY IN MANHATTAN: IN MAY 2011, JUST A FEW METERS FROM “EATALY”, ZONIN WILL OPEN THEIR “FLAGSHIP STORE” - “GUSTAVO” - WHICH IN TWO YEARS HAS ALREADY WON OVER TOKYO AND BY END 2011 WILL BE IN LONDON

Manhattan is gradually becoming the center of Italian wine & food in North America: there are already ten tasting temples, including the newcomer, but already famous - Eataly, created by Oscar Farinetti. Starting in May 2011, just a few steps away “Gustavo” will open - 250 square meters dedicated to the best of Italian salamis and wine. It is the second “flagship store” by the pair, Principe - Zonin, after the one they opened in Tokyo in 2008.

Francesco Zonin, vice president of Zonin Winery, confirmed the news of opening in the Big Apple, explaining that “we have already signed the leases, and starting in January we will begin work on the American flagship store Gustavo. We are right in front of the Flat Iron Building, a must for residents and tourists alike in New York”. So, starting in May, New Yorkers and not only (45 million people visit New York each year) will have the possibility also of tasting San Daniele prosciutto, baked hams and the Friulian Principe’s Prague ham. All of these will be accompanied by wines that Zonin produces in Italy and in America from Cabernet to Chardonnay to Nebbiolo to Merlot. Manhattan was not a random choice: it is the most famous, trendy, open-minded location and the inhabitants “adore Italian food, have a sophisticated palate and are always looking for something new. Gustavo will offer quality, typical products and atmosphere to those who love Italian products and are curious about them”.

The offer, based on the target of customers, which inevitably will be half residential and half business people, will include lunch, dinner and after dinner.

The goal of the Zonin Winery project, which started in May 2008 with the opening of the first store in Tokyo, is to be present in the three main areas of the world (Asia, Europe and North America), where wine & food exports are most important. For this reason, they have already planned the opening of the European flagship store in London in 2011, and are already focused on the development of the franchise network in 2012 throughout North America.
