THE WINE WORLD CONQUERS BENETTON: ALEXANDER, THE NEW LEADER OF THE TEXTILE EMPIRE HAS BOUGHT FARNESE WINE. FROM APULIA AND ABRUZZO THE GOAL IS TO DOUBLE SALES FOCUSING ON HIGH-END WINES AND NEW MARKETS

The wine world has won over Benetton, too. Alexander, the new head of the textile empire that from Veneto has conquered the world, has bought one of the most important wine producers in Abruzzi and Apulia, Farnese wines, revealed Luciano Ferraro on the DiVini www.corriere.it. It is a solid company, which produces a range of wines intended primarily for consumer goods, and exports 90% of its bottles. It is not another flagship for the Benetton Empire, but rather an investment that will, at least in the ambitions of Alessandro Benetton, double the volume of business, by betting on high-end wines and expansion to new markets, from the United States to Indonesia.
