Every year, the "Liv-ex Power 100” ranks the most influential wine brands, considering various parameters. How does the ranking change, though, if we take into account only the quantity of bottles traded on the global benchmark of the "fine wines" market? The "Top 10 most powerful fine wine brands" by "Liv-ex" in collaboration with "The Drinks Business", analyzed only the market share of each company in the period from September 2013 to September 2014.
The result, not surprisingly, is that there are only Bordeaux brands on the ranking. In first place, Château Lafite-Rothschild at 15.8% share, followed by Château Mouton Rothschild, at 9%, and Château Latour a bit less, at 6.8%. In fourth place, Château Margaux, 4.8% on Liv-ex, and right on its heels, Château Haut Brion at 4.3%, while Château Cheval Blanc and Château Petrus, were respectively at 3.2% and 3.1%. Eighth place was a tie for Château Pavie (which is first in the Liv-ex Power 100 ranking) and Château Pontet Canet, at 2.6%. Closing the top ten, Château Lynch Bages, at 2.5% market share.
